This lecture is focused on the application of the systematic approach outlined in the Shang Han Lun to the treatment of dermatological conditions. So often, the treatment of skin conditions is approached in a way that is a departure from the body of Chinese medical theory and clinical application, with standalone diagnosis and formulas, this lecture will demonstrate that it doesn’t need to be so. This lecture focuses on treating skin conditions from the truly holistic perspective outlined in the classics, as an extension of the treatment of the underlying pathology that is occurring in the individual. To form an effective integrative approach to support or treat patients with any disease we must first understand our system to the greatest possible degree, so the highest level of understanding and practice can form part of that integration. As such, this lecture will focus purely on the classical Chinese medical practice of the Tian lineage style of Shang Han Za Bing Lun (Shang Han Lun & Jin Gui Yao Lue) practice.
