Patient is in stage 4 lung cancer which has spread to the bones. He has a history of leukemia, and doctors are saying he may not be able to survive the chemo that they are recommending. He is hoping to get strong enough to be able to do the chemo. Currently he is on his 7th round of radiation, and is extremely fatigued, and has insomnia, low appetite and high thirst. BMs are 1-2x per day and soft; urination is normal. Pulse: L1 dropped, but tight, L2 rel floating tight wiry, L3 deep weak; R1 dropped tight; R2 relative floating tight wiry; R3 deep, dong 1/2.The guans are popping out relative to the rest of the pulse, but overall pulses are deep and tight? Should i treat this as a taxation pattern?

You’re referring to SDH being more water layer and EJ being more xue layer, right?

I don’t have the standard pulse for CHGZGJT in my notes…..was considering this formula for him.

Also could say to hell with harmonizing. Reminds me of one of Arnaud’s cases in NOLA. At this point one just needs to revive the yang. Try YYFZBJS. Even if you cause some discomfort, it’s okay. I shouldn’t interject but what’s the goal ultimately? More chemo.
