Woman 40yrs, missed abortion at 8 week. I suggested giving her herbs, but she decided to wait for a spontaneous abortion. Since fetal death, she has very severe dizziness, nausea and palpitations. She describes it as a feeling of “fluid in her head” including sinus congestion/pressure, pressure on her head, tingling in her cheeks, stiffling sensation in her thorax. The dizziness is not related to movement (no difference lying/standing/moving). Last week she took medication to induce, so yesterday the fetus came out. Little bleeding, but still severe dizziness. Hearing her story, I thought of water pressing up, so I thought LGZGT + GG, but then feeling her pulse, I can’t find any roll up on R-cun. Her pulses are deep, weak and soggy. No tightness, except a little bit on R-guan. Should I go to ZWT instead? Thanks for any suggestions!

What modification rule are you using when combining LGZGT+GG?

I would think she got shaoyang. LGZGT has no nausea. First harmonize (add GZFLW), and then treat water afterwards if necessary.

Ok, that was a TCM-way of thinking because so many symptoms in YM areas where GG goes. But what about the LGZGT?

Thanks Arnaud. So I could understand this presentation as what is described in JG Ch. 31: postpartum oppression and muddleness? Although, there is no wiryness in the pulse.

It can be subtle if the patient is weak.
