This is my mother – 68 years old and diagnosed with PMR 6 months ago after her sister’s death. It’s managed by prednisone, which has caused her to gain 30 pounds and facial swelling. Her feet are not swollen. She’s had a string of severe bronchitis episodes, also, with the more recent one starting approx. 3 weeks ago after a cruise. She’s congested, has SOB and a deep cough. She’s also exhausted. She’s on two strong antibiotics and inhalation treatments – no more asthma episodes now. Bowels are soft. She also has restless leg at night and vexation. Sleep apnea most likely. I had her on a blend of YBJZT/XXXT, but she couldn’t take it because she felt it hurt her stomach. I’m wondering where to go now. P: L: Cun deep slippery, bigger. Guan deep faint expiring, Chi deep faint. R: deep faint expiring overall, very faint.

Acute problems require Shanghan formulas. Body aches require body ache formulas.

Sorry Eti, what is PMR? Hope you find a way to help her.

All pulses deep faint with body aches would fit FZT, but with cough and congestion you may not want the RS, so maybe ZWT cough mod + XR for SOB, and can add HP if chest fullness.

Polymyalgia rheumatica. Similiar to fibromyalgia and appears in women over 60
