Mr. Lindborg is an early pioneer of Chinese medicine in Sweden. He started his Chinese medicine training in Paris 1971 with Claude Larre, Jean Schatz and Elisabeth Rochat de la Vallée, ultimately becoming their French-Swedish interpretor in 1984. He received Western medicine training at the University of Uppsala between 1980-1981 and again between 2001-2002. He started his formal acupuncture training in Sweden in 1980 from which he graduated in 1986. Between 1985 and 1987, Jan Lindborg travelled to Beijing, China and Taipei, Taiwan for various acupuncture internships. In 2003, Mr. Lindborg enrolled at the Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine in Nanchang from which he graduated with his Bachelor in Chinese herbal medicine in 2005. Since 1991, he has been the co-founder and director of the Acupuncture Academy in Stockholm, to date still the largest Chinese medicine college in Sweden.

Mr. Lindborg started his Canonical Chinese Medicine Training™ at the London ICEAM in 2009 and graduated in 2011 as Diplomate in Canonical Chinese Medicine. Later that year, he was appointed Director of the newly established Stockholm Institute of Classics in East Asian Medicine, housed within his Acupuncture Academy in Stockholm. And since then has successfully hosted the inaugural Canonical course in Sweden. He continues to both host clinical training with various ICEAM instructors in Stockholm, and deepen his personal education through continued study visits to the US.
